Eating Disorders
Eating disorders are often categorized as a constellation of symptoms and not much more. In actuality, eating disorders often develop as a type of coping skill. Sometimes this skills helps someone feel like they have control over their body or emotions; to feel as secure or ‘bad’ as their brains desire. Through education around other coping skills, and understanding the triggers, new methods of coping can be put into place.

Gender
Gender is the psychosocial sense of being boy, girl, both, neither, and/or other. This is accompanied by a wide breadth of options for expression, and if one chooses, transition. The journey, whatever it may entail is both exciting and nerve wracking and you don’t have to walk that path alone. In a world that frames trans as other, we can still find space with each other to explore and learn and grow.

Autism
Autism is a constellation of symptoms and patterns and these are often referred to as detrimental or ‘disordered’. Coming to accept autism starts by understanding it and finding where you may need supports and where you naturally excel. Sometimes it can feel isolating and othering, especially with how language is used around our experience. In a safe space things like special interest, stims, and necessary boundaries become clearer.
